Interview on Warren Whitlocks's TwitCastRadio

Last night we had the pleasure of being interviewed on Warren Whitlock's TwitCastRadio. This was the second time we had tuned into this jam packed, Twitter related, web radio show and certainly won't be the last. This is a GREAT way of networking and interacting with other Tweeple. Your free to chat as you listen and giving out your Twitter ID to everyone else is encouraged.

Tweepler Demo at PodCamp Halifax

Recently we presented our Tweepler application to a small small but interested group of people at a local PodCamp. Below is the video that was recorded. Thank you to @paulwesson for the recording. During this same conference we also had the pleasure of seeing the CEO of RocketBoom speak, taking in some other great sessions and we were even interviewed by CommandN for an upcoming appearance in their hit podcast!

0 - 500 Followers in 48 Hours!

From Jan 21st - Jan 23rd our @tweepler account went from 13 followers to 516 within a period of 48 hours, all without us seeking out people to follow, hoping for a return follow. They found us first!

What people are saying.

So how the heck did we do it?

  • We created an application that many would love and would find useful. We spent time making it user friendly and easy on the eyes. We valued and implemented the feedback from our private beta testers.  We planned for an actual launch and did some marketing prior to release all for a cost of $0.
  • Tech Crunch got the scoop early on and wanted to do a blog post about the app. The post by @robinwauters was a hit, had a lot of comments and from this spawned lots of other blog posts. @techcrunch also sent out a tweet when the blog post went live which created a whole wave of retweets by Crunch lovers.
  • Prior to launch we brought on 18 key influencers as sponsors. We gave them ad space in our Sponsors rotator in exchange for helping us get the word out. Across these sponsors we had a reach of about 120,000 followers. They did a great job and there was lots of buzz on Twitter and a ton of retweets. There were actually over 1000 tweets with a mention of tweepler in our first 2 days. Thank you everyone
  • @mashable and @ryancarson mentioned us in one of their tweets which once again brought a lot of visitors our way in a short period of time.
  • We added in a viral mechanism to the application where if people liked our service they could send a tweet right from the application. This got a lot of attention and we had a lot of new people discover the app this way. Those that chose not to use this still tweeted about it and thousands of other followers seen these tweets.
  • We responded to support emails and support tweets instantly as they came in and we interacted with our users from day one at a more personal level vs corporate. We listened!

Stats for 2 days.

  • 8900 visitors to the site (7600 uniques)
  • 1030 tweets about tweepler
  • 2500 unique users tried out the application
  • 118 mentions of "tweepler" in Google
  • 337630 users imported which equates to 5.6% of ALL of Twitter (assuming 6 million users on Twitter.
  • 95% of all the tweets were positive, 3% were feedback and bug reports and 2% negative.

What do you think, was this a successful launch?

Tweepler - A Twitter App Solving a Real Problem

Tweepler launched yesterday and it has been a huge success.

What Is Tweepler?
Tweepler Is an easy, more enjoyable way of processing your New Twitter Followers. View a list of New Followers and classify them in one of two "Buckets" Follow (meaning you wish to follow them back) and Ignore (meaning you don't wish to follow them and want to archive them out of the way, reducing clutter).

The Twitter community has been craving this, we gave it to them and they thanked us for it!

A Preview
Here is a preview of what our service offers.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the full details of what we accomplished in our first 48 hours.
